Anyone using NAPA 1607 oil filters
First of all I know about Fleetguard filters I am currently using them myself, but I was searching Ebay and on occasion I have run across people selling cases of filters at very reasonable prices. Their have also been deals on cases of Mopar Factory Cummins filters for a good price. I have read the horror stories about them not being warrantied on past engine failures but I would think that WIX/DANA has come along way since those days.

I don't know about using Napa filters on the Cummins but I use them on everything else I own and have for many years with no problems. This is my first Dodge CTD so I'm using Fleetguard filters on it, not wanting to void the warranty.

Napa filters are made by Wix. Napa Gold filters are as good or better than anybody else including Fleetgaurd, Baldwin, Mighty, etc... Nothing wrong with them at all.

I only ever used NAPA filters (air, fuel & oil) before we went on the road fulltime RV'ing. Of course, I always had a place to do routine maintenance. Now I just head to the nearest Dodge dealer for oil changes. This also provides dealer documentation in event of warranty problems.
I also switched to Rotella-T from Valvoline AllFleet since there isn't always a NAPA store close by when I need an oil change. I can always find Rotella at Walmart.
I do carry a spare NAPA oil filter & a spare Mopar fuel filter just in case.

I have used napa gold filters on my jeep, and at 168K no problems at all. With that said I would stay with fleetgard to avoid any issue's regarding warntee work. If you buy the filters at cummins or any place but the dealer the difference should only be a couple of dollars between the two.

We use the Napa filters at work. We have had excellent service form them. We have 5700 different pieces of equipment and all types of engines. When I open the fuel filters they are StrataPor in Napa boxes.
