Anyone used Maxxis Buckshot Mudders??

I came accross these and thought for the price, $121 through national tire, that they might be a pretty good deal. I was looking at the 285's. If I got 30k useable miles out of them I'd be happy.

Thanks.

i have a couple of buddies using them on thier welding rigs. They report mileage between 40k-50k, rotated & balance every 6k miles. Remember though, they carry a heavy load daily, so an unloaded truck may do better.

Buckshots are cool tires. Louder than the average radial for certain, but they really work well in the soft goo.

I never got 40K out of mine...More like 22K and they were bald as a grape by that time

My buddy runs them on his truck. I would say he probably gets around 25,000 from a set. He also gets his from National Tire and Wheel. National is only a hour and 15 minutes away from us. I thought for a mud tire, they are relatively quite, compared to other mud tires??

Cummins4life;
I ran them on a "83" chebby 4x4 drw (7325lbs) empty wt.. They're a littlte stiff but wore better than anything else I tried. Not bad on road noise either, great traction. I didn't keep the gas hog long enough to wear a set of them out though. I wore out 2 sets (6 tires) BFG T/A's in 20k mi. :'(

Re:Anyone used Maxxis Buckshot Mudders??

Around here in South Louisiana, Buckshots are about the only tire you will find, besides Interco brand tires, on most of the Redneck 4x4s around here. They do exceptionally in mud, and if you ever run into any snow I've heard from northerners that run them that they do even better in that white junk.

As far as tire wear goes, 25k is about the longest I would expect them to last, but it seems like there are people in this post that have had them last longer than that, so you may be able to get them to last that long. But don't forget that these tires were designed for soft terain first, and just made mild enought to DOT certified for road use.

Re:Anyone used Maxxis Buckshot Mudders??

I just got my 315/75/16 Maxxis' last night. As soon as I get a chance to put my lift on I'll let ya'll know how they work. I play in the snow and drive gravel roads every day, plus average 50-60k miles a year so I should know on wear pretty quickly. They look sharp!

How much lift are you putting on?

Thanks for the replies. I know there are three different kinds of "buckshot mudders" out there made by two different companies so I expected the reported milage to vary. I think I'll give em a try.

Re:Anyone used Maxxis Buckshot Mudders??

I ran a set awhile back. They're siped and pinned for studs. Good traction wet and dry. Comparable noise to BFG muds. I've also run Buckshot Radial Mudders, and they're louder, better traction offroad, worse in the rain, all as expected. They're both better than TSL's, TSL/SX's, and Boggers in the rain, and much quieter. The bias-ply Buckshot Mudders are about as loud as TSL's.
