Anyone use flexpipe in their exhaust?

I have a aero 4040xl on order. I want to put it where my cat is and I will put a muffler delete pipe where my muffler is. will i have enough pieces for this? Could i use flexpipe if i dont? I was going to use 4 inch step/band clamps as well and rivot underneath clamp for added strength.

Flex pipe is ok to use in moderation. 1 to 2 feet is acceptable. It is there to provide flexability do to frame flex. If you can use stainless. Also when you use a band clamp make sure it'd stainless and tighten it with a impact gun. They are made to suck in and conform around the pipe. Don't be affraid to tighten it right down! They're rated at a ton of pressure. Good luck!

I used it in my old '02 single cab. I ran it from the down pipe to the 90* coming out from under the bed for the stacks. As long as you're not going to be supporting any weight or using too long of a piece, you'll be fine. I didn't notice a raspy sound on my truck.

I'm just saying that I have a buddy that straight piped his from the turbo back with flex pipe and its raspy. just my .02 Im not saying it doesnt sound kinda cool Im just sayin. With my truck i used regular pipe and its more of a deep tone than raspy. also if you live in an area that snows and they lay down salt in the winter just buy regular pipe cause it will look the same as the shiny stuff after one winter, plus noone sees under your truck anyways

Like with anything in life there is quality and ther is cheap. Same goes with exahust. Cheap flex pipe you can easly bend with your hands Good pipe takes a little perswasion<(spelling?) The raspy sound you are talking about could be due to an inexpencive piece of pipe. Look into it.

Good info right here, deffinitely use an impact gun and run the clamp till it is fully mated to itself with absolutely no spacing at the clamping bolts/spacer.
