Never heard of one of those unless it's an AGR box.
3 turn each way would be REAL nice. 3 turns each way is exactly the point where the clock spring gets tight too.
Mind you I probably wouldn't want to be able to turn 3 each way from straight. That's almost too tight for the u-joint and I wouldn't want to break my clock spring either. Maybe 2 1/2, at would be real nice.
I get 1 7/8 rotations one way and maybe 1 5/8 the other. It's pretty annoying so I know your pain.

oh you're saying a tighter steerin box that has a more responsive ratio. Got ya.
Yeah that's probably the AGR boxes. I've heard both good and bad about them.

Never heard of a 3 turn for the 1st gens, but have for the 2nd. Most companys have quit making the 3 turn because its getting to hard to find parts to build them, but they may have started back up. The 3 turn was factory on 2nd gens with the plow package.

I was told to stay far, far away from the agr boxes.... too many issues with leaking; If you cant wait a week or so, I'm going to be ordering a box from a place called redhead steering gears. They have a website, and I talked to the owner on the phone; sounds like a real good guy... quoted me a price comparable to napa.

I didn't hear about leaking issues. I read one guy on here or on CF (I can't remember which) had about 3 of them seize on him (AGR sent replacements IIRC). Outside of that, I haven't heard anything bad.

I got one from these guys:
http://www.steerandgear.com/
I have been running it for over a year with no problems. It is actually more like 3 1/3 turns lock to lock. I did the box, pump, lines, a 1993 column and a Borgeson shaft. Made a huge difference in how the truck drives, much easier to get around in parking lots. I forget what I paid, I just remember I thought it was reasonable.

I think the Borgeson shaft made a bigger difference than the steering box at highway speeds, no slop at all with the new shaft. I really only notice the 3 turn box when I am in a parking lot or some place tight.
