I have been debating on moving my gauges from the over windshield 3 pod to the dual steering column mount and the SRT-10 a-piller mount.
I have a few questions...

1.does anybody make one that matches the 06 column color??(i don't want to paint it)
2.does the dual mount block your oem gauge view??
3. do Optix gauges fit?? I read in one post that a guy was having fitment issues with the optix gauges??

I searched the forum and found some stuff but it was mostly older trucks 04's and they already have a black column and mine is grey

I had the steering column, but got rid of it and put in the overhead counsel. I had to paint mine. I also have the srt10 guage pod, I really like it, but I could only get 1 guage with the attitude holder, so I put my boost there, I run the attitude for egt and engine temp. and I have tranny temp, fuel pressure, and rail pressure in the overhead

I have a dual steering column mount. I am happy with it. It does block trans select display, but thats about it. I have the Optix Rail Pressure guage and Autometer Fuel Pressure gauge mounted in mine.

Blocks a bit, but you get use to it.

The reason I changed mine, is that it was causing pressure on the column and was making my multifunction lever (read signal light switch) to sometimes not work, it would actually signal left when i wanted to go right,, stuff like that

That's weird!! I would not think the little extra weight on the column would cause all that???

if you had not had problems with the turn signal's would you have kept your column mount?? is it easier to see then the overhead mount??

I wish they would have rolled the gauges off to the sides a little more
I have a standard trans so that should not be an issue.

does the optix rail gauge fit OK in that pod?? I read while searching that the optix boost,fuel pressure did not fit very will?? he said it did not push in the pod all the way because the boost and fuel line was to ridged???

I suppose there could be some issue with boost and fuel lines fitting ok, but both of my gauges are electric and only wiring to deal with. The Optix and Autometer fit the same in mine.

I think that the pressure was caused by feeding the wires through, and not enough relief from the manufacturer. As for whats better, I think that would depend on how tall you are. I am 6 2, and have a long body, so I sit rather high, and I found that the steering wheel tended to block the guages somewhat. I like the overhead, except for the last guage, it gets blocked at the top of it, but all I did to remedy that is turn the guage so that the part that I need to see is in easy sight. Another reason I like it overhead is that I dont have to take my eyes off the road to see it.

I have one and removed it when I installed the Attitude monitor. It does block the lower inside corners of the speedometer and tachometer. It also blocks most of the warning lights. I would have to look over the guage pod to see my WTS light.

As far as I know, they only come in black.

A-Pillar is the way to Go---along with the Dash Mounted Gauge Pod-----that is probably what I'm going to do with mine.....Was looking at the Commander But I think that I will stick with the analog gauges for now. I trust them a little more!
