I have goodyears in that size. I forget which one it is but its an all season tire. They are a good all around tire and great in the snow and loose stuff. No rubbing at all and it looks pretty good.

I'm running Michelin LTX-A/T2's. They have been really good tires and wear like iron. Had sidewall cracks on my original 265's and Michelin replaced all 5 tires no charge except for the upgrade to 285-70-17's. I've got 43000 miles on them and still have a half inch of tread left. Ride real nice on the road too. Raised the truck quite a bit too.

My truck had that size Toyo A/T on it when I got it and I plan on getting the same exact tires in the near future. I thought they looked like they needed replacing when I got it and 20,000 miles later they still have life left.

I also have that size on my truck in the BFG a/t ,some people do not like the tire but 35,000 km and good even tread wear. That size of tire is a good match for an unlifted truck. Any tire is good just keep an eye on tire pressure

How did you get that deal. My Michelins have cracks also. I just dont know if those are the tires that were on the truck off the lot.

285 70 17s

While I was at Country Tire yesterday having my Dunlops rotated another customer was in to have his new tires put on. He went with the Dick Cepeck FC 11s in the 285 70 17s. The tires fit fine on that truck which has a completely stock suspension. Those tires are only D rated but this truck never tows & seldom carries much payload so they should be OK in his application. Tires look good & I have seen many sets on trucks in the patch so they must be holding up OK

I first read about the problem with cracks on this forum. I called the number that came with the tire warranty info with the truck. At first they tried to talk around the issue but when I mentioned this forum they gave me the locations of their warranty reps. in my area. Took it to Tire Kingdom with 4500 miles on them. Had to wait a while for the new Michelins to come in as they were just being delivered from the factory. By the time they called me to say they were in I had 16,500 miles on the truck! They still replaced them at 100%. The cracks were right off the bead all the way around. They said it was an issue with the "curing process". Good luck

I think I'm going to try the hankook AMT RF10 285 70 17's in a couple months. Talked to the guy at discount tire. Said he would ship them for $800.00 I have found found them local for $858.00 mounted & balanced. I have access to tire machine but no balancer

I've seen some good stuff about the Hankook's. I may take a look at them; I just wish I could change the name of the tire. I like the name about as much as the other tire manufacturer Kumho.....what the heck is up with that? I like tough sounding tire names Firestone, Desert Dueler, Bridgestone, I just can't pay the $$$$ for the name!

I am running those exact tires that you are looking to get 285/70/17 nitto terra grapplers E rated and they are amazing good tread life great on the highway and they have done great off road too. No complaints on my end. I have H2 wheels on my truck so I was able to run 315's BFG AT's on there no problem with fit just the **** tires were D rated yeah they did good until the tread got to lincolns head then picked up a screw, good thing though got the wife talked into these with a sweet deal from tire kingdom (discount tires in the SE) and had a new set with a one year alignment garauntee and free balancing for the life of the tire for 1k out the door so I would highly recommend them.
