Anyone make their own Water/Methanol Tank?

Just curious if anyone on here has made their own Water/Meth tank out of something like an RV water storage tank. I have a hard time believing that a 6 gallon tank that these companies sell are worth anything close to 100$, and with the distances that I drive during some trips I would like to have something closer to a 10 gallon tank.
If anyone has done this, please share your wisdom with me!

Theres enough space forward of the leaf spring mount to put in something like a 12x12x30 tank. You can get a marine HDPE tank from outfits like tempo which will work good.
Make a cardboard mock-up and verify the fit first.
I think theyre around 180$ for the oddball sizes like that one.
OR.. check ebay and look for those spun aluminum tanks. Might be able to get a good fit and a good price with that too.
Another option might be to buy a bunch of alum sheet stock and solder it up with that durafix / lumaweld stuff. Fairly strong and goes on like sweating copper pipes.
Youll need a sheetmetal brake or angle stock to do that right.

I made one from 4" sewer pipe and tee-d 3 lengths together that lay flat in side the bottom of my tool box. Tee-d in a Y fitting and reducer to 1.5" with screw on plastic end cap to create a fill point, used the simple level float indicator to monitor level of water and holds about 9 gallons. Less than $50 and couple hours worth of work. Cut a piece of plywood to lay over the top of the pipe so the tool box has a false bottom with the pipe/tank underneath it.
