on my 3rd gen, i ran it out the hinge area up the weather striping and up in the windshield gap to the center of my roof centered on the center clearance light. a nice and easy install. the 3rd brake requires the liner to be removed (boo)

I'm liking the 3rd brake light idea, our truck interior is gone right now so one more thing isn't going to kill us, I hope. But the cable is long enough so looks like that will be the way.
Edit: ok so we fed the wire through the 3rd brake light. Didn't even have to drop the headliner. ran it along the "c" pillar and along side the factory speaker wires. Pretty easy. Now we just have to finish running all the power/speaker wires for everything else we're putting in. Thanks for all the input.

I also ran my antenna wire out the third brake light housing. It sits about two inches forward of the light in the center of the roof. I had to notch the housing just a bit where the wire came through and I used a touch of clear body silicone to seal it. No issues since. has been that way about two years now.
