anyone ever had VP-44 timing error???
Anyone ever had an Injector Pump Timing error, just replaced the lift pump, reset the codes, and since the supply pressure to the injector pump is now good, the truck recovers fine?
Thanks,

didn't do it, just curious
No, I didn't try that option. My wife and I left on vacation to Canada, we got 200 miles from home and pulling a mountain pass, started loosing power. Got to the next town, pulled into a Dodge dealer, diagnosed the VP-44 timing error, pulled the trailer to a campground a mile away and spent two days there while they replaced the injector pump and lift pump. I did get an upgrade option to the lift pump. The new pump is now in the tank and the dealer says, I should have no more lift pump problems, which should save the injector pump from now on. I hope so, I've got 157K miles on the truck and this was the second injector pump. First one failed at 114K.

I think you did the wise thing by having it replaced. You should get a fuel pressure gauge installed in the cab so you can monitor the pressure coming from the lift pump (lack thereof more than likely your cause for failure).
The intank lift pump is the only one that Dealers will install now, it runs at a bit lower pressure than the original firewall located pump, but is suppposed to be a superior desing (and location).
Good Luck buddy, happy camping.
