Anybody use white night?

does anybody use this kit from geno's (or other places)?
i have the factory tow package and geno's says it may interfere with safety chains. for those of you using it, how bad does this particular lighting system interfere?
does it stay on while towing, or can it only be used to back up, then take off before hook up?
again, for those of you using it, does it put out a lot of light? i would be using it to see better behind me with tinted windows and to hook up sometimes also.
any other alternatives for a similar price?

ive seen them before, never used them. however....

im not sure about the saftey chains

yes its suppored to be wired up to only come on when backing up.

and im sure you could see alot better, they are basically little fog lights.

and i couldnt imagine why youd wanna be taking it on and off? youd have to back up, take off your ball assembly, remove the lights, reinstall the ball assembly, then continue backing.

I ordered a set a couple of years ago to try on my truck, installed them and promptly took them back off and they are sitting somewhere in my garage collecting dust. I was not impressed with the way they fit, nor the overall quality of the kit, it was all cheap plastic and seemed it would be very prone to leaks; of course not to mention the fact that indeed there is a problem with clearance of safety chains with the kit which almost defeats the purpose of having one. I would give the kit a rating of zero soot blasts.

i am unhappy with mine. they did not fit under the bumper like the catalog shows, they interfere with the chains, i had to put big shackles on the receiver to clear it, the housing is NOT sealed, neither is the relay, so in wet washington, the relay fills with water, rusts and doesnt work. i just lost my 2nd relay, and it is not getting repaired. gonna pull out the lights, and install them into the bumper, with my own waterproof relay box.

i read on there website there are no issues with hooking up. it can stay on permanently. also, as for the safety chains, would a link bolt work to clear the bottom of the housing?

as for the build quality and weaterproof - or lack of - that steers me away a little. can it be made leakproof with some silicone or other easy sort of work?

I just went and pulled the kit out of the garage to take a closer look at it and there does not seem to be an easy way of waterproofing it, at least not without doing major surgery to it at any rate. As far as the safety chain clearance, I am not certain but I do think you would have to do some more surgery to the kit to use a link bolt. You have a PM.

I had one, gave it away. It worked well, but taking the ball mount off/on was a major PITA! I have a kit from KC that works great, came complete with everything including a in cab switch and good install instructions. Now I can either smoke tailgaters or blind them with light!

I have an even better set up coming, I will post pix when done. It will be after the NW Bombers Party the weekend of the 23 & 24.

No WhiteNight, but the $12ea rubber housing tractor light from Napa have served me well for a couple years now. I removed one bumper bolt on each side to attach 'em, and have a lighted switch mounted under the steering column.
This was the only pic I had available.

I did the same thing with napa rubber lights years ago work very well. I changed the bulbs to 55w hallogens. nice and bright. i should to move them for winter now because my sander covers them with sand frequently. and i need them to see the sand at night.
