Has anyone tried General Grabber AT2's? I can get a set pretty cheap, the alternative is Mastercraft Courser CT's but they are a little more. If anyone knows (or has an opinion) on these tires I would appreciate it. Also, does anyone know how big you can go on 16x8 rim? I've got a set of Eagles, and the tire shop says the biggest I can go are 305's but I think I've seen 315's on an 8 inch rim. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

I have those tires. 295's on the stock aluminum rims. Previous tires were the stock Michelins, which I was NOT happy with because of poor performance on ice/snow. So far I am very happy with the General Grabbers. If you can get them for cheap - go for it.

BTW, the 295's are a shade taller than the 305s and are narrower so rubbing at stock height isnt as big of an issue.

I have the Mastercraft Courser Ct's and love them. I have about 7k miles on them with no tread wear. Before I bought my tires, I had my boss order the Grabber AT2's and the ct's in 285-75-16 load range D to compare them. The ct's are more aggressive, and come with a 40k mile warranty. The at2's are better in snow, and come with a 60k mile warranty. I bought the ct's because I liked the tread pattern much more than the at2's. If you are looking for a tire that is between a BFG all terrain and a mud terrain go for the CT's. If you are looking for a tire that will get you most places off road and still has a 60k warranty, go for the at2's. My .02

SWEET NECTAR! I just received my Eagle wheels in the mail and was thinking about updatind to 33in Mastercraft Courser C/ts. You said the tread looks agressive, if so the pics i see on the web do no justice.

They aren't super agressive, but they are more agressive than your average all terrain. Plus they come with more tread(21/32) than almost any other all terrain or mud terrain tires. I will be getting into some decent mud this weekend, so I will let you know how they do.

I guess what I'm looking for is advice on what tire would be best if I decide to back up to a pulling sled . I know a lot of the guys around here are running BFGs, but I bought the truck to play with and probably won't see 6000 miles a year on it, so I don't care about road noise or tire wear too much, and I've got 3.55's, so I don't want to go bigger than a 305/70. I just don't want something that's going to bite too hard and make me bounce and break something, but if I'm out in the mud and need to pull a wagon to the barn...So I'm probably asking for the impossible, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm still looking at the Mastercraft CT and the General Grabber, but I'm open to anything.
