Dont know if this is better for High Performance or Engine/Drivetrain forum. Did a search and saw similar topics in both.

I installed a PacBrake PRXB on my 07 w/5.9/auto. When the Pac Brake kicks in, I can hear the exhaust noise caused by the brake, but just barely. I have factory exhaust with a muffler delete pipe but the cat is still installed.

My question: If I replace the cat with a test pipe, will the exhaust brake sound be more noticeable?

i ran it with no muff or cat. out of my tailpipe, i heard a hiss when at idle. under deceleration, i heard it through my intake, not exhaust

Had the Jake-brake same on the hissing sound. Not bad at all.

I also have the pac no muff. no cat and got the same hissing sound thru intake. Not quite the sound i had hoped for but i still love it!

Mine gets looks from folks in the vehicles next to me with their windows closed. It is quite loud. No muffler, cat gutted.

no. more like a horrible air leak...i used to leave it on to aid in warm up, but now i turn it off...ill try to get a sound clip before to long! its not cool at all

If your looking for the BIGRIG sound, its not there.
