Anybody ever heard of or done this???
talking to a guy where i live yesterday that is a flat whiz when it comes to HI PERFORMANCE 12 Valve.....talking about a GSK. he told me he doesnt bother with GSK kits he shaves the fly weights in the pump and keeps the stock springs. my question is how hard wud that be to do and are there special tools required to remove those weights?

It requires disassembly of the governor section of the pump to remove the fly weights. I'd imagine you'd still have to mess around with getting the correct preload on the idle spring to get its proper characteristics. Not saying that it won't work, but for the average guy out there, the GSK's would be better bang for the buck.
