Anybody else notice that ULSD seems to be less foamy?

Here in Houston, I have noticed most stations are on the ULSD. I was able to top off rather quickly and then I noticed that the new diesel doesnt seem to foam near as much as the non ULSD. Just was wondering if it's just me or what......

The refining process to produce ULSD removes substantially more aromatics. That may be what you're seeing.

Bought fuel at the Love's on 290. It was B5 so it looked a little yellow and normal foam. I bet MickeyB has been to this stop. I guess that stations providing B5 through B99 will have to use ULSD.

Was in Houston Saturday and went to the Diesel Drags...Impressive event.

I don't like ULSD, I feel it's un-American. Our country was built on good ol high sulfur diesel and what was good enough for my grand-pappy is good enough for me.

I noticed it wasn't as foamy. So I added some Palmolive to it. Now it foams right up and it keeps my valves clean and soft. They are soaking in it now.

Anybody else notice any clear diesel? I don't mean a hint of yellow, I mean completely translucent, CLEAR!

I filled up our transfer tank last week and this stuff is 100% clear, weird. I swear it looks like water, no foam with this stuff either. I am re-filling a 20 gallon plastic tank on a compressor twice a day and I haven't had a chance to let someone else take a look at it.

Only reason I don't have Ruby Red in there is because after I drove the extra ten miles to get it I realized the fool was trying to charge $.02 MORE than the guys down the street were for ON-ROAD!!! Guy lost my business.

I haven't noticed less foam, but I have noticed less mpg. Even with the Smarty on the econo setting.

My regular station began using ulsd a few months ago and I also noticed less foam. It didn't seem to effect my mileage too much.

TCR, you need more toys

There are over 30 stations in Austin selling Bio. Most in state. Off the top of my head the Shell station in Cedar Park (next to truck accessory store) sells B20, I have boought it there. I printed a list of station for Texas on one of the Biodiesel sites. It's in my truck and the truck is in the body shop cause my wife drove it .

P.S. I'm driving a rented Pontiac G6, what a POS.
