Any suggestions, front bumper.

I have a 2006 slt model and I am wanting to get the sport bumper for the front. Does it bolt on the same as the regular chrome bumper? Any suggestions on a good place to find a black one?

my sport Laramie bumper takes a different metal backing plate then the SLT one the truck came with...other then that the rest of the frame mounts are the same....

I found my bumper in the DTR classifieds...complete with fog lights

I like my frontier. Bolted on and kept factory fogs.

2rowdy,

Does your frontier bumper have any frame flex when you hit potholes or drive on rough roads? Did you weld it to the frame or is it just bolted? Do you think you could shoot some pics of the underside where it attaches as well as the "guts" of the bumper under the nice exterior?

Thanks, LT

Texan,
I don't have frame flex as far I can tell. I live out in the country and my job has traveling on dirt county roads all the time and I am perfectly happy with it. As for the guts, it quite abit lighter than a ranchhand if that answers you question.

I'm glad you're happy with it. Mine is similar to a ranch hand, but the thing flexes quite a bit when you hit bumps. So much that the bumper has actually dented my body right below the Cummins emblem. I'm looking at other options. I would return it for a refund, but my mechanical mind and ability to weld said that I could fix this problem and it would not defeat me. Well after many braces and additions to the bumper, it still flexes and I doubt the company would take it back after it has been altered.
