ANY idea about the 2010's
Maybe, I am google illiterate but i can not find any information on the 2010 2500 body style. I am seriously considering a mega cab next year. I was wandering if any new information had surfaced as to whether it will be as large as it is now, what the body would look like, Etc..... So my dilemna will be 2009 model year same body as style as my 03 and 05 are or a 2010 megacab new body style.

The Mega Cab will not be available for the 2010 MY. The 2009 MY is the last of the Mega's. (2008 MY was the last of the Mega's in the 1500-Series). The Mega Cab will most likely be replaced with Dodge's new Ram Crew Cab...a little bigger than the Current Quad Cab, but a little smaller than the Mega Cab. Just picture the Mega Cab without the extra space behind the rear seat.

That would be my guess...
When the 3rd gen body style came out, it was only in the 1500's in the 2002. Then in 2003 the 3/4 and 1 tons changed.
I suspect they will do the same thing now, with the 2009 1500's having the new style, and the heavier trucks changing over in 2010.

Well if they make it thanks to this stupid merger here was the talk that was leaked.

BTW in the pictures that is not the mega cab, it is just the new crew cab so it looks like it's going to come in a long bed.
"The integrated trailer brake controller should also be available for the new 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickups when they’re launched in the fall of 2009."
"We're told that for the first time, the larger trucks will sport a unique front fascia, but we're happy to hear that the large Rams will make use of the same interior as the 2009 Ram 1500."
"Expect to see the output from signature Cummins diesel engines remain about even with today's engine (350 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque), or even drop slightly in order to improve fuel economy. Scott Kunselman, vice president of truck product development, believes fuel economy is more important to truck buyers than the ability to pull the largest possible trailer up huge hills at 85 mph. Beefing up the transmission, chassis, and other related components to handle much more power would add weight and cost to the truck and only a handful of buyers would ever make use of it. Most of these heavy-duty trucks are used in fleets, and fleet managers are more interested in reducing fuel cost than seeing outrageous power levels."

Atleast form the pics, 100% you can see the sold front axle, only thing thats up in the air is the coilover rear end- in the pics, that info isn't discernable.
I am trying HARD to find the u-bolts, but..... don't see 'em.

Been away for a while..... drivin' the gasser......missin' the diesel . In love with the new 1500 body and interior. I'm hoping that the 2010 or 2011 2500/3500 will follow.
Just as an update. I've put about 15,000 miles on the gasser 1500 Quadcab shortbox 4X2. No issues and it has been a nice truck other than the fact it gets crummy gas mileage 13.5-14.2. In retrospect, had I purchased a 2500 quadcab diesel back in '06, I'd have kept it. The dually was too big, too wide, too long for what I use it for (my wife refused to ever drive it). I am hoping to replace the gasser with a shortbox 2500 diesel as long as fuel prices don't get out of hand any worse than they are now.

New Photos have surfaced.
Please note, this is NOT a Mega Cab...Dodge is just fooling us. This is the new Crew Cab with a 8ft bed.

That got me thinking...
Funny how when I was growing up, the black wheels came stock and you tossed them for chrome ones.
Now it's just the opposite.
Looking at this picture I wonder if blacks will be stock again?
Probably not. Looks pretty sharp though.

would be nice to see something like this come out. I'd love to pick up one in a dually and give my current rig to my wife. She's been after me about getting her a Ram.

Can't wait to see what the final production version of the 4th gen will look like. I'm really hoping that Dodge does come to their senses and builds a Megacab Longbed. The market and demand for them are already out there with the 6 different conversion companies in this country.

The Mega Cab will be gone after this year. It is being replaced by Dodge's new Crew Cab (which can be seen in the new '09 1500's) MY2009 is the last year for the Mega's in the 2500 and 3500 Series.
