What are some DIY mods that are good to do and inexpensive at the same time?

Well, a simple programmer like a edge EZ and a 4" exhaust will get you 50-60 hp. It depends on your skill sets. Put a high performance air filter system. Go from there. There are better programmer than EZ though. It is what I have and it mildly woke it up.

I am an aircraft mechanic for a major airline and crewon a USAC Sprint Car Team so not too much mechanically intimidates me if I have the tools and knowledge base to tackle it.

I know with my Superduties we made our own AirRaid intakes etc but I dont see anyone doing that here. Other mods like that are what I am talking about.

I'm not sure if you know about the stock fuel systems on our beloved Cummins, but I would start there. If you can work on aircraft, you will have no problem with modding your truck. If you like hearing your turbo whistle, you can remove the silencer ring?

Low pressure side of fuel upgrade is a start. Install all gauges. After that, fab a steering box brace; add an air compressor and live tire pressure control system for off road use. Post pictures.
