Question Any 12v folks with EDM's?

Talked to one of our advertisers, and he passed on that some of the 12v folks were having problems tuning to the EDM's.

He suggested going to the 913 pump (which I'd rather not do, need the money for other stuff) and M370's, but I'm afraid of the smoke and mid-range stumble. He also said that the smoke and stumble can be tuned out, but that someone would have to know the p-pump pretty darn well to make that happen, and that ain't me.

I'm pretty much decided on a turbo, I'm going with the KSB-1B with the HX40 outlet.

Looking to make 450-500HP with a #4 plate, KSB1B turbo and whatever injectors I decide on. The low end power and smooth idle advertised with the EDM's sounds great, but rumor has it Don M is only doing custom EDM's for 12v.

What, besides the M370's, will compare to the EDM's on a 12v?

We are basically phasing out the 12 valve EDM injectors for general use. We have very low call for them. We get about 1 customer in 1 hundred for the 12 valve.

They are difficult to manufacture and many of the 12 valve customers just dont have the time or knowledge to tune the pumps to make them optimal. Timing, AFC adjustments, etc all play a part in making them really sweet. For the money the Marine 370's just cant be beat and we cant compete with a low ball priced injector that sells for 300 bucks when we have over 14 hours in labor alone before raw material cost.

After weighing all the options I pretty much decided to phase them out, unless a guy is willing to pay the bucks to have some customs made up. They are still here but the value shopper would be better off to try something else.

The high cost of custom nozzles is not too biz smart when you sell a few sets per year. The big stuff still remains available though. At least for the remaining year 2004. We also keep fresh nozzles for any warranty or upgrade scenerio that may arise.

So M370's are the best bet for a properly valved truck? What are the big downsides to the 370's? I am looking to improve on my burn here sometime soon.

I like my 370's but on the Little pumps like what I have they tend to be a little ruff driveing. I will be getting some laser cut Delivery valves here soon and I hope they take the stumble away from it because right now it is a very hard truck to drive when pulling for me but anybody else usually can't drive it. My gf can't and my dad will not even back it out of the drive way he is so scared of it .... talking about my daily driver here

AAron, when you get those new DV's,be sure to post how they work out for you. I also like my 370's, and with the auto the stumble doesn't really matter too much, but I would rather have a bit smoother and quieter truck for jacking around my trailer in campgrounds.
As it is, if the engine is just coming off a hot run, it sounds like a hi-perform cam in the back-up move around mode.

Is that stumble a problem for those of us with a bigger pump?

I was told the stumble isn't a problem with the 180 pumps, I'm not sure about the 215. I would imagine no problem....

Eagle Alloys.....16X8.

Thanks, it'll be a little sweeter if I ever figure out what injectors I want to run.
Still not sold on the 370's, guess I'm afraid of making more smoke than I do now.....

i love my 370's never had a bit of stumble, but this is on a 215hp pump. i am with don, there is no better bang for the buck. and there have been some 700hp plus dyno runs with 370s i belive. they do smoke pretty good, when you lay on it. but i am still on a hx 35. daily driving is not a problem at all. i log 500 miles per week and would not trade for them.

'98's were all 215's.

You can look down on the drivers side of the motor, all the way towards the front, there will be an Engine I.D. tag, and it will tell you the rated HP.
