Lightbulb Another use for dipstick temp sensor?

I hope to install a PML extra capacity trans pan in the near future. With it I'll add a 1/8" temp sensor. That will free up my dipstick sensor (and reduce my tranny fluid temps).

Question is, what can I re-use my dipstick sensor on? It can't be anything under pressure due to the nature of its design. I thought about hanging it in the air intake housing for kicks but the guage measures in increments of 25* starting at 50*, I think. Would I even benefit or learn anything from having it in there?

I could maybe attach to the fins of the ATF cooler I'll be adding under the bed? Or hang in front of the radiator??? Or attach it to the radio antennae maybe and then I'd feel like I had a modern truck with the thermometer to tell me the weather on the outside .

What is a good use for it or is there one? And if so, would one use just a regular type auto switch to switch between the two?

Any ideas?
