Another Turbo question

OK I think I have been talked out of spending my money on a Dodgezilla. I have been pointed towards a s300G or a HTBG with 57 wheel. What is the difference in these 2 turbos? I am not a racer. Is one better for towing than the other? Is the 14 or 12 cm housing a better choice? I don't want any lag. I have some DONM handcrafted RV275's doing around 90 to 100 HP, Edge Comp, newly installed 410 rearend. 4601 HP LP with well over 100 k miles on it, a 1/2 inch fuel line from the LP to the VP44, which is over a 100K, but still got 11 to 12 psi at WOT. Scotty 2 air box/tube with 4 inch firewall opening cut. I have LP wired to run 12 plus volts all the time, instead of regulated by the ECM. I can run straight to 1500 EGT;'s on stage 3. I need to lower my egt's 300 degrees. I have 3 inch straight dual exhaust , no resonator or muffler. I am going to 4 inch duals or 5 inch stacks, don't know yet. Do the stacks make a lot of noise right behind your head? Please someone answer this one for me. I got enough noise now. I don't won't a head ache.
Now which Turbo do I need? I want a good streetable turbo that I can occasionally tow with, & run a 140 mph. I got to get to a 140, because I have already made it to 130. Gotta have goals right?

Thanks a million to all advice. Have a good week & weekend.

I think a HTB2 62/12 would be perfect for your mods & towing.

Jlent, the 62 was mentioned to me, but I was told it could be a little sluggish on me starting off. Can you further comment? Thanks

I ran a 62/12 with 90hp injectors & a edge comp towing 15K....it worked great for towing. If you don't plan to go huge on injectors later....it will work great & support up to 475hp easy. I got that turbo spooling at 1300 rpm with the 90hp sticks. You will be fine. I would recommend a Smarty if you tow alot....you won't believe the low end torque the Smarty gives you to get the trailer rolling....Just a suggestion.

If you're basically staying where you are, I would say ATS Aurora 2000. I loved mine b/c it spooled fast & still had real good top end but it won't hardly break 450 h.p. Then again I love my II SPS 62/14, too but the cruising temps are higher since it doesn't spool quite as fast.

IMO, you're in the compromise range. With a Comp & 100 hp injectors, a 12cm equivalent turbine housing will get hot... but a 14 cm housing will have more lag (which is more critical on an auto than a manual tranny).

I'd do the S300, 62/14 and learn to drive around the lag so you can play hard and have fewer egt concerns. If towing heavy, get the 62/12. JMO.

Thanks for the info so far. i do plan on staying right where I am. I am getting awesome fuel mileage, & enjoy the power I have now. I just need to cool off the EGT's about 300 degrees. I see all of you guys directed me towards the 62 mm wheel instead of the 57. What is the major difference in the 2 wheels? I am completely Turbo ignorant.

Jlent, what is the difference in using a Smarty and an Edge Comp. I am not giving up the Edge. Will the Smarty stack with the Edge?

Thanks again for all the help.

Bigger diameter fan... more air! And, with the newest technology developed by Borge Warner, the S300 seems to spool up as fast as smaller previous turbos.

Smarty will stack on an Edge Comp.

Well should I go with the s300 or HTBG? I noticed they looked basically the same had almost identical performance numbers. I am all for the 14 cm housing, but I already load up & blow a lot of black smoke with my HX35W. I don't won't it worst than it is now. I know if it spools to quick, I will lose the top end boost. Please advise.
BTW, I smoked a GEN 3 Dodge today. He run up behind me & blinked his lights at me, like to move over. I just bumped the edge from 3 to 5 & left him in a cloud of smoke. Since putting the 410's in, this thing will hit a 100 quick. He finally caught up & tried to pass me after I backed out of it. I saw his puff of black smoke, he saw my cloud again. I did a 20 MPH powerbraking burn out on him while slowing down at a yield sign. he backed off with his 3rd grade truck then. OH I need more turbo. Please advise. Thanks

The Smarty is by far the best mod for towing....unbelievably hard fueling right off idle. I have been running Smarty stacked with my Drag comp for a while & would never sell the combo. The Smarty fuels low....Edge fuels hard high....together your truck feels smooth instead of the jerk of the truck after the turbo lights off that you are now experiencing. The 57mm wheels won't do much for you....a 62 is perfect for your truck.

What is a smarty, something that plugs in like an EZ or a tuner?

The Smarty will make you blow more black smoke, it is another "You have to learn to drive it" deal.

OK, so the smarty is a tuner. What is any more special about it, than a Superchips tuner. i have used them & have been very satisfied with them. What is the difference. With the added timing My Comp box is already doing, how much more added timing can the engine stand by adding a Smarty? I appreciate any & all advice, as I am about to venture into the next HP sector, which i wasn't planning on doing.

Jlent should I use the 62 with a 12 or 14 housing? I want the most air, but I don't want to drag out the driveway blowing black smoke, waiting for enough spoolup. I definetly have to cool this thing down.

I still need to know S300 or HTBG , or are they the same? Thanks
