Another P-pump conversion question
Another P-pump conversion question
IF you install a P-pump engine in a first gen, do you have to bypass the fuel filter/bypass the piston lift pump/install an airdog or FASS/upgrade the fuel pickup/upgrade the fuel lines/etc to make big power?
Just curious, because it seems like you have to do this with a VE to make "big" power.

No that's not it. What I want to know if it's possible to make good power (500 whp) on all stock stuff... stock lift pump (would get a new one of course), stock fuel lines, stock tank pickup, etc.
I am kind of wondering what else would be involved if I decided to do a conversion.

I run a piston pump on my p-pumped first gen. It does fine up to 700 hp. Above that the pressure starts to drop. I added a FASS HPFP and plumbed it into the front of the pump. I only use it when i need it and it seems to work well. The two will hold 40psi at over 900hp. Simple install, but probably not needed with just a 12mm pump.
