Another interior question (Removing faux wood)
Does anyone know if the faux wood panels on the dash and doors can be swapped out?
I know on my 03 trucks that the wood panel plastic was "welded" to the back of the dash and door panels, making it impossible to swap out.
I would just prefer the black or silver inserts.
Thanks

I know the center section on the dash is all one huge piece and you cant change just the wood there... However you could remove the section and then have the wood painted high gloss black or silver or something. But then that leaves the wood on the doors??? As far as I can tell they are superglued on. Ebay has some guys selling covers/replacements but it it all big $$$ 300+ if I remember right. I would like a way to safely remove the door sections and have it all painted high gloss black... just my 0.02

Mine are now silver hammertone Rustoleum. Trust me, if you dislike the fake wood, anything is better than THIS fake wood. You'll be happy you did it. I didn't understand this move from Dodge. Fake wood didn't work 20 and 30 yrs ago, why would they think that it would work now?

Door panels are easy to remove.
Take the phillips screw out at the piller; up by the mirror/window post.
Take the handle off. It's a Torx but I can't remember the size.
Take the 2 screws off a the very bottom of the panel.
Lift up on the door panel. It is held on with several tabs that fit into slots in the door. If you just try to pry it off, you will break the tabs.
Lift high enough to clear the door lock or unscrew the door lock **** first.
As you take it off, unplug the wiring harness for the window/doorlocks.
This is fairly easy to do..... since I could figure it out.
Good luck!!
