another highidle ?

I went to the dealer to have them enable my high idle feature. They told me it would only work with an auto though. Would it work on my 5spd? I think it would but I didn't feel like arguing with them. Thanks, Andrew

I've got it enabled along with the 3 cylinder idle, I think it was all part of the same program they flashed? At any rate my trucks a 5 speed. As long as your parking brake is on and it's cold enough it'll idle up.

They said the flash was for an auto, although I looked at the tech bulliten they gave me, and it said it had to be in park or neutral, so it sounds like it'd work either way. Should I just tell them to do it anyways?

If you can find someone with a Smarty nearby you can enable it yourself. I've done a few with mine and all work great when it is cold. You can hear it a block away on 3 cyl. haha

I had the dealer last year enable mine, I've yet to have it work, and trust me Edmonton gets COLD. I'm not sure if they didnt do it right or I have a TPS problem, The TSB says it will engage when certain parameters are met, I have adjusted my TPS and I've yet to see it read 0% (checked with snap-on scanner) so until I fiqure out the TPS thing I dont know if the dealer did it right or not. (cost me 100$ to have them do it and they claimed it was not possible on a 98-02 24V. Then I presented the TSB and then they did it, go fiqure huh)

anyone in EDMONTON got a smarty?????

After they flash it, they also have to enable the high idle / 3cylinder feature with the DRB scanner. It is disabled by default. Also, if you plug your truck in, it probably will not be cold enough to engage. This is half the reason I bought the Quad Adrenaline, so I can make fast idle work any time I want it.

Does anyone know the location of the intake air temp sensor. That is in a 2000 dodge.

Thanks,
Robert

It is on the side of the head almost under the cowl. Look at the top of the fuel filter.....it is a little farther back and right next to the MAP sensor.
