Another Dually Spacer Question

After reading a few posts on here I decided to give Performance wheel a call. They said they could make them for the 04's but they wouldn't be hubcentric (they use the acorn lugs). So they forwarded me on to a guy out in Cali, that can make them. Fred is a 68 year old guy that has been drag racing for over 30 years and really seems to know what he's taling about. He said he machines the lip on the spacer so it will be hubcentric and I would be able to use my OEM flat washer lugs on the outter wheel. Here's the catch, he says that the Dodge wheel center will need machined just a tad to slip over the lip on the spacer. You can't make a spacer with a lip that fits a Dodge wheel because the lip would be to small. So to have enough media around the lip the wheel hole needs honed out to the size of a Fords hub. He claims to ship the Ford and Dodge spacers out all day long. They ARE made out of billet STEEL and sell for 140 a side best i've found so far.

I also called Arrowcraft and CorrecTrack, neither of them make hubcentric spacers for the new Dodge. So all you guys and gals with a spcer that has a lip, did you have to get your wheel centers honed?

Fred machined 4 spacers for me for a pair of 2005 crew cab Chevy Duramax dually trucks that we recently purchased. Chevy still insists on putting the little bitty 215X75X16 tires on the trucks. I changed out all 7 tires on both trucks with 235X85X16E and like a figured when we hooked up the 5th wheel trailers the tires rubbed!

I wasn't going back to the small tires, so I called Fred and in 5 days I had the rear wheel spacers in hand. On the chevys you don't have to machine the inner dual wheel. They have worked great so far. I chose to have Fred make 2" spacers. There is plenty of room between the rear duals even with the 32' 5th wheels loaded. I will probably put on 265's on the next tire change. Fred makes good products and I would buy from him again.
