Another Damper Gone??
I had my first stock damper go around 100k and bought another stock one for $5 off ebay that was like new with low miles. Yesterday I was towing about 14k from pa thru md and kept the revs betwee 2000 and 3500rpm. Went out today and started it and heard some weird noise so looked and the rubber is sticking out and wobbling again. I ordered a fluidampr that will be here tomorrow. I was wondering how many others had a similar problem. I only got about 43k on this one. Also is the pinning absolutley necessary with the fluidampr?

I heard you can't use the stock fan with theirs. Anyway I already ordered a fluidampr. I see you have the tnt-r, did you ever have a problem like this?

I am going to read the directions, someone on another site said that it is only needed above 4k rpm so I will see what it says. As of right now I don't plan on it.

Yeah I put her on yesterday and used the red permatex and tqed to 125 ft lbs. The directions say over 3500 to pin it but I never go over 3500 so I'm good. If I get into sledpulling then maybe I will pin it. Thanks guys for the help.

How often do these go bad? What are the signs? I have had a funny vibration in my truck for a while but never check my dampener. I have 105 thou on her.

Now let me tell the story about Brian Lent. He pulls out from a stop sign with his foot in the floorboard everywhere/every time. He usually keeps rpms over 2200 even when pulling through a drive through at Burger King. Sometimes he pulls past the pickup window because he popped the clutch too fast with the revs up. The truck tows 14k#-18k# on a regular basis & usually 10-30mph above speed limit depending on where the cops are sitting. The passenger side "Oh ****" handle is broke because I have been scared for my life quite a few times. Do you guys think he should pin his damper?
