Need Advice for future wk
Alright with the mods i have now what should i be looking at next.
Uses: I use it everyday for transportation additionally I use it for work thus it does everything from hauling hay and other random stuff in the bed to towing trailers and equipment.
Goals: I want to keep it an easy to drive everyday truck that is reliable.
Concerns:
Don’t think this is a real issue but I am worried about tranny it always takes a second for it to work its way into the gear that I want. No grinding, but it typically has a bump bump feel into gear when shifting. Not a smooth transition. Is this normal? How often should nv5600 trannys be serviced? I’ve got over 100K+.
Clutch with the power I am turning should I be looking at that next? I don’t hot rod the truck around, and don’t slip the clutch. I know it had a new factory clutch at 63000miles from service records.
Ideas: Boost Elbow (will this make to much hp and destroy clutch), what else should I do?
Thanks Rob

I would only do a clutch if you can slip the one that is in it. This will most likely happen in 5th or 6th gear when you are hard on the throttle. It's not a performance mod but an exhaust brake is always nice if you haul trailers on a regular basis. Good luck, Eric

Thats what i am thinking too e brake. Does not necissarily have to be a mod type performance thing. I would figure it would be in the lower gears that it would slip?

Well on the vehicles of my buddys. that have the 6spd. theres slip in 3 or in 5,6 on WOT. but they have stock clutches and about a 120hp chip. Yours dont slip with the Quad?

Maybe the transmission thing is really just a slave cylinder thing???
If you want to try something like a boost elbow, just pinch the vacuum hose off on the wastegate. You will see some increase in power but, not a ton. Maybe like 5-10hp??
I don't see that you have an intake? That will help some especially if you decide to put a boost elbow in place.
Maybe a set of small injectors?

OHHHHHHH Pick me, pick me I have a suggestion!!!!
In reality there is probably not a lot of difference in all the intakes out there other than money depending on who is building them and who is private labeling them. On a dyno you will most likely see maybe a 2-4hp spread across all of them, especially at your power level.
I can tell you about our intake. We use Steel for the housing and not plastic. They are powdercoated and look and fit nice. They are built in TX and not over seas.
For the filter we use an AFE made Pro Dry S filter that is made specifically for us. Even has our logo in it! So if you like Pro Dry S filters and don't want to spend $500 I have a solution for you!
With all that said, we are the most, or one of the most cost effect solutions for the intakes. Call your vendor or the DTR store and get a price quote, we are pretty darn competitive!

I figured if you were still around you'd chime in about your air intake. As you can see most of the stuff i have done already has your label on it so that might be a possiblity. Thanks Qzilla
