Thumbs up American Troops

Guys and gals in light of the fastly approaching ............... " Dawn Of The Dead " No matter which way your political views are let's not forget our American Troops who are fighting in a foreign land and DYING for our safety and security !!!!! According to numbers I have seen there are 140,000 troops in Iraq and I believe another 10 or 15 thousand in Afghanistan and many more around the globe . My wife and I and some friends are putting together some " care packages " ( for lack of a better term ) for our American Freedom Fighters suffering through some rough conditions for OUR butts !!! Just wondering if we could rally and show our troops that we appreciate the sacrifice they are making for us all by getting with our friends , families , etc ....... and send them some items we all take for granted !!! This day and age of shipping you can UPS or Fed Ex anywhere around the globe , pooling together with others will help to ease the shipping costs . Just use a little common sense with items ............. playing cards , hand lotion , shampoo , etc ............ !!! I heard a radio station here collecting CB's for our troops to communicate between vehicles .............. which absolutely amazed me by the way .

Most VFW and American Legion posts do drives to send the above items . Contact your Local veterans group to see if they are shipping stuff over and donate the items through them to save shipping costs.

Another good thing to send is Kool Aid so they can add a little flavor to their water when they want it. Little things like this really mean a lot when you are far from home.

The Kool Aid with sugar in it...The 20 for $1 packets are awful tart

Been there, done that

Half the MREs I got had cocoa in them - not very good in the heat.... Other half had Kool Aid (with sugar) - and guess what - no one will trade....

I always send girl scout cookies...

Baby wipes are in high demand. Also parts, any kind. If they ain't what they need, at least they can use them for trading material. Just shipped another box out.

Anything you can do to make them MRE's taste better is greatly appreciated.

Just to pass on thanks from some of the returning troops (SeaBees) ... they appreciate all the care package thoughts and prayers. The junior troops need that shot in the arm to keep focused. Again ... thank you.
