Unhappy Alternator Chirp

Well dropped my truck off at the swindler, err dealer today to have it checked out. What did the parts and labor cost for anyone that has had this done? I guess I am looking for a guesstimate before they call me and give me some huge number. Already on the hook for 69.95 just to hand them the keys. Thanks for any help.

Thats exactly it. Someone a few months ago on here said that may be part of the reason I chewed through a belt in 4 weeks time. I don't mind the noise at all kinda like it actually but hate to keep going through belts.

Mine still chirps... original belt and 125k miles on it. Call it "diesel sneeze"...

While there is a part and a fix for this now, I don't see it as being something that would chew up a belt in one month.

Chirp is normal.....4 weeks on a belt is not! They should be resposable for the 2nd belt if it being caused by a warrenty issue. They will try and dodge it but get pissy!
