Almost to 36K, what should I have checked?

I'm taking the truck in on Friday to have a few warranty issues addressed before the 36k warranty runs out, i.e leaking tranny pan seal, parking brake cable has hole rubbed through it, and a squeeky rear shackle bushing. I noticed some dry looking oil leak around the power steering box but its not wet at all (like it has leaked a little at one time but stopped). Does this sound normal or is it the start of a real leak? Any other advice on what to have them check or things I should check before drooping it off would be much appreciated.

I have about 33k in mine and I plan on brinding it in for a few issues before warranty is up. My steering box is leaking, my front differential is leaking where the drive shaft enters the diff. I also have a tranny pan leak but I replaced with a mag hytec so Im on my own with that one. I too would like to know if there are any other common problems I should look for before warranty is up.

You should probably check your ball joints if you haven't already had them replaced. Mine were bad by 17K miles. You might want to look at the TSB's out too, something there might jar your mind about an issue you were't sure about.

Complain of death wobble and get the upgraded steering setup. I took my '08 (which had a Nov 07 build date so it didn't have the newer setup from the factory) in at 35000 miles and told them to check it out and they ordered the parts. They were on backorder for a couple months and the truck had almost 45K miles on it before the parts were in. Everything was still swapped out and covered under warranty, to include the new alignment afterwards.

Dropped it off last friday and I still don't have it back. I told them them about it not running as strong as it should and poor milage, and turbo sounded kind of funny. ******* called on tues and said they ordered a new turbo for it and they have to desuit the system. Does anyone know if the turbo is covered under the 100,000k mile warranty? I looking at getting a egr delete and dpf delete with fooler box if not. A tuner with dpf delete and fooler box with egr delete is way cheaper than a a new dpf. Also does anyone know if the dpf is covered under the 100,000k warranty. I'm talking about the ctd warranty, nothing extended.

The DPF is covered under the emissions warranty which is 7year/70000miles i believe (it's in your owners manual). As for the turbo, it should be covered under the 100K Cummins warranty.

If you are looking at getting rid of all the junk, the Smarty is now available. All you would need is a straight pipe exhaust and the Smarty and it covers all your bases, code free.
