all of a sudden blow by?
well tuesday night i let my brother drive my truck and he drove it a little harder than it is probably used to but it wasnt as bad as it sounds, he would run the rpms up until it would start to defuel before he shifted. then wednesday i was at work i glanced out and had oil spots under my truck these were new to me so i went out looked and they were dripping off my tranny crossmember on the driverside, light coat on fuel tank and half the rearend was soaked. i washed it at the car wash last night and it still dripped off the crossmemder today but the rearend looked a bit drier. im curious as to what might cause this. the truck is my 96 listed in my sig. it is an ex oilfeild truck but it starts great and runs out good better than some of the 12 valves i've seen, so i really dont think it is compression related the tube has haze but looks to be normal to me especially with the miles. the valves havent been adjusted either

Its just part of having a diesel.
Just think of it this way.
It doesnt leak oil, it SWEATS horsepower. (somebody elses saying on this site).
You could always put one of these on if you dont like the drips.

This is for a 24 valve. I though for some reason I read it was the 24 that was dripping.
I personally just did valve cover breathers on my 12valve because I HATE oil leaks. Cost me $280 from Cummins but it doesnt drip anymore.

The cummins part numbers are as follows, valve cover 2830784, breather 4899194, and breather seal 4899195. I wont post the breather bolts as they are just metric bolts
The valve cover was $88.54
The breather was $31.03
The breather seal was $5.83
Here is a pic. of the covers. This is Hammers truck (member on DTR).
I just did these this weekend and it has stopped all of my drips.

Where Does The Tubes Off The Breathers Go. This Is Something I Will Check Into, But Right Now I Guess I Will Let It Drip Oil Until I Get The Valves Adjusted And Kill The Kdp. I Sure Appreciate Everything

As Far As Vacuum Goes The Cruise And Everything Works The Only Thing That Is A Bit Screwy Is The Hvac Controls The Floor And Defrost Only Blows Through The Defrost And When You Put It On Vent And Floor It Blows Out The Defrost I Think

You will need to put a vac. gauge on the vac. pump to determine if its leaking. I dont remember of hand but I want to say you should get 20in. of vac. there or more. Im sure someone will correct me. Also this is a common problem. Do a search for more info.

I FOUND ANOTHER LEAK. I FOUND MY VACUUM GAUGE AND CHECKED THE VACUUM FROM THE VACUUM SWITCH AND IT WAS ONLY ABOUT 5in. SO I TAPPED INTO THE SMALL LINE THAT GOES FROM THE VACUUM PUMP UP TO THE FIREWALL IT WAS STILL ABOUT 5in THEN I FOUND THE HOLE, AND NOW ITS UP TO ABOUT 20in. this even fixed my abs light and my cruise pick up a lot faster. thanks guys for the help i will let you know about the blow by after i drive it a couple of days
