My buddy has one on his truck (Silver 66). And everyone was saying how laggy it is and how undrivable it is for everyday driving. Both me and him see absolutly NO issues or complaints. Sure it spools slower than stock, but its not like the truck is too slow to get out of its own way. It builds power down low just fine. We really dont see what the big fuss is all about. But everyone is different.

Hes has 110 injectors, Hellman intercooler, AFE intake, Smarty SW9, MP8, and head work. Which it has been rumored that headwork actually makes spool-up worse due to lower velocity. But at the same time you move more air so youd think it would make things spool better. Also he has the tightest converter Suncoast offers so I think that hinders spool-up also. But even with the listed factors, we both agree the truck has no problem down low for daily driving.

I run the silver 66, and couldnt be happier. (well maybe i could with a set of twins) But over all i think its very drivable! yeah its bigger and theres nore lag but nothing a little getting used to in a couple of days cant fix. As long as you arent towing a whole lot its plenty drivable, especially after i put in the boost controller. When you stomp on it, it is just a little more laggy than stock, and you get more smoke but man does it haul ***!

Put it this way, I would have no problems putting one on my truck. And if you can get it at adecent price and you dont like it, I dont think you would have a problem selling it on here. Keep in mind though this is a newer SilverBullet 66 which I guess they have gone through and reworked some issues that com along with running a 66. Such as surging and the like. Where say maybe the older turbos like a SledPuller 66 may not act the same under like conditions as the Silver 66. Im not bashing anyones turbos or saying one is better than the other, nor can I really speak from expierence. I just know the Silver series turbos have a few tweaks than its older model turbos from a few years back. See what im saying here or am I just making a bunch of nonsense of this post?

And as far as hurting your truck...I wouldnt worry about it too much. Just wastegate it down to 40psi or so. Say your pushing 40psi out of the stocker and 40psi from the 66. The 40psi from the 66 is going to be way more efficient than the 40psi from the stocker, considering the stocker is out of its map at around 32psi.

I run a silver 66 in my 03 daily driver with stock injectors, and just running a diablo sport plus mods in sig, and I have no issues or problems with it. Its a great turbo.

Nick.
