Exclamation alighnment tool

don't know if this is the appropiate place for this but needed ASAP - I'm just doing the nv4500 swap in my 90 diesel and i need the alignment tool to install the clutch/flywheel. Where can I get one without buying the entire clutch kit? anyone have one for sale? I can pay paypal. I've went to all the local dealerships and auto parts stores and no one sells it seperate without buying the entire kit. I would even consider just buying the clutch if it came with tool then it would at least be half the cost - I've already been set back with this swap since the getrag died - best place to reach me is at:

Thanks DTR!

You can buy them seperately off advance auto if i remember right.

I'll look for the one i have, if i have it just cover shipping to and from and it's yours..I'd like it back for the future.

You could just pull the input out of the NV4500 and use it. There are 4 bolts that hold it in. There is a little caged needle bearing and a thrust bearing in there. Just put the bearings back and re-seal it with silicone when you are done.

It is possible to eyeball it too. Just get where you can look it straight on and center the disk up.

If you have a helper, they can hold the clutch down. (after the bellhousing is bolted up tight) so you can wiggle the disk around and line it up.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I might use this suggestion if I can't find one in time - I'm back to work here tommorrow so I cant finish working on it until next week

thanks for the suggestions!

I don't think I've ever used the alignment tool, I always done like everyone else does and use an old input.

Your old Getrag input would work.
Just use an angle grinder and whack it behind the splines.

Mark.

This is the best Idea - I can't believe I didn't think of it earlier, especially when I'm gonna ditch the getrag anyways..
