Airtex Fuel Pump Problems

So about 8 months ago I put in a airtex pump in place of the carter.

I started my truck this mourning, drove it 5 minutes to school, and when I came back at 7 it wouldn't start. The fuel pump wont even hum like it normally does for 20 sec or so.

I was thinking it was a fuse or relay of the sort, but I couldn't find anything. I replaced the relay entitled "Fuel System" but with no luck.

I don't think that it is the fuel pump, but it is possible.

Any thoughts??

Check for power at the pump and double check the ground.

Did you install a prefilter in the system?

No, prefilter...

Power at the pump is my next plan of attack. Just havent had the time. Is there a fuse specifically for the pump?

There is a relay in the PDC.

If you did not run a prefilter, your pump is most likely dead.

If the pump was used as a stock replacement, there is no relay. The stock pump is powered directly from the ECM.

So, I unplugged the pump checked power noticed I had power plugged it back in, and the fuel pump worked! loose harness maybe? I'm gonna replace the pump most likely anyway since its still on warranty.I had to roll it over quite a bit in order to start it since it must have ran itself out of fuel.

Thanks,

Brett
