Unhappy AirDog Troubles

I'm not sure if I was sent the kit for a 98.5-02 because there are several things that don't seem right with this install. It came with the 12 valve supplemental instructions, but who knows.

The return line tube fitting is too small for my tank filler neck?!?! So I can't use it. Luckily there seems to be another return line on the top of the tank. it is only big enough for a 5/16" hose. So I'm going split the Airdog return between that line and the return line from the injectors & injection pump. I think the combination of the two lines should be able to handle the flow. 1/2" seems like overkill for this system anyway.

Also if I move the system far enough back so that the filters clear my skid plate, I have to angle the assembly because the pump hits the bottom of the bed?!?! Has anyone else had these type of difficulties? The angle isn't much, maybe 10°. My frame grows a couple inches in height right about here. Also the bolts were about 1/2 too long.

I don't know if there is any difference in frames, but this truck was a camper special with the auxiliary springs and sway bar.

The truck is living on the lift this week because I need a new fuel tank strap. The old one is sketchy at best. So I have some time to investigate.

Between my dad and I, we have a lot of wrenching time between us. But, it feels like there are some details escaping me. Oh yeah, more details, I have pulled off everything, lift pump filter housing, etc. I used some supplied fittings in different locations so I could have my fuel pressure gauge hooked up.

I would hate to put this whole thing together and only have 15 psi of fuel pressure, like the 98.5-02.

Thanks for the help,

Craig

Have you tried contacting a airdog dealer that you purchased from?

I used the right size tubing and tapped a 3/8 fitting into it and cut the filler hose to put my walbro return into. It wasn't hard and works good. I'm thinking 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 in tubing is what I used.

Yeah, the store says I have the right thing. The fitting is about 1.5 diameter. The fill tube looks like 1.75. It isn't swelled out at all. I guess I'm gong to make it work. Oh well.

I'm not too familiar with the Air Dog, but the fill pipe for the tank is 2" ID if that is what you are talking about.

I knew it. I have to have my dad measure it, but I knew they were different. From what I was told only the Duramax uses a smaller fill tube. Thanks.

Filler neck size

So I will give you guys some pictures just in case anybody else comes across this issue. Apparently the company has never heard of a Dodge having a ~2" filler neck. Per their words only the Duramax comes with a 2" filler neck.

However, Pureflow was very nice about the whole situation and they are exchanging the larger one for me. The pictures below are with their standard 1.5" filler neck attachment.

Whatever company that is must be confused. Every 2nd gen Dodge for sure is 2" ID.
