S! Guys/Gals... Been lurking around for a bit, enjoy the site! Looking for an Alberta dealer for the AirDog fuel system, Edmonton seems to be lagging in diesel performance shops. Also interested in the Smarty jr., but can't find any up north!!
Thanks,

Welcome to the ABDTR#5!
Edmonton does have a few shops, just be careful on price. A few shops I personally deal with continually is PDR and Peak Diesel, both out on the West coast. Piers at PEAK has been doing diesel for a long time.. The last items I ordered from PEAK were here in 3 days.

We use to sell Airdogs but they didn't stand up to our cold winters so we switched back to FASS. By far the best product on the market.

I just ordered a Smarty JR this morning from Peak. She said they have them in stock and it will be sent out this afternoon by mail just like I wanted!
Will be sending back my Juice with Attitude for repairs! As for the airdogs........ sounds like Dennis has some good advice.

Thanks, Lil Dog and Swamp Donkey... getting parts through USPS is cheaper no duty/broker fees! I'll give those people a call.
As for the FASS being better, I'll argue that! (JMHO and research) Seems a number of FASS systems are having issues with relays and noisey pumps. What makes FASS any different from AirDog in cold weahter conditons? They are both mounted on the frame both have their respective filters "dangling" in the cold? What were the failures of the AirDog in the "cold winters"?

My fass has been trouble free for a few years now, Luke has my old one, it never gave me trouble 1, I upgraded to a bigger badder model, and it has been perfect too

I'm in the same boat. My old one never gave me any issues, and Kenny is running that one now. I haven't heard from him with any problems either. And my new one is just as good as the last, but a lot more pressure.

Any problems I have heard of with the FASS were taken care of pronto by the manufacturer. Most problems arise from poor installations.
PEAK is in Surrey BC, no boarder to deal with there. Also Piers has been in the performance market before BD was BD, it was called Valley Fuel Injection, PDR used to be Piers Diesel Research, anyway you get the idea.. If you have ever seen a blue truck doing donuts in the street years ago, it was Piers..[guitar]
Look up 1000ftlb Cummins on Youtube.

Its the other way with me ---tried Fass for a bit(they may be better now i think i had #40 something) and it became way too noisy, changed it out to the Airdog and have not heard a peep out of it since it was installed 3.5 years ago.Rumors are that the dog has a lifetime warranty now.:cool::cool:So far it has worked for me maybe not others---My 2 cents [coffee][coffee][coffee]DW

I'll let you know about the AD150 when I get it installed on my truck. I believe the AD's had their issues when the owner was sick and wasn't watching over quality of his minions. Pureflow bought them out and uses the old owner / developer as a consultant I believe. Reports on quality have been increased. And, they are more compact than the FASS. I ordered mine out of the states for half price of what local shops wanted for the FASS.

How complete is the Airdog kit? does it include a draw straw and new line and everything? I really really need something soon and the airdog looks to be close to half the price of fass.

Hi Guys,
Let me elaborate on the issue Dennis at NAPD brought up. The motor that we used on the AirDog that caused problems was not water proof. It had the same design that I had used on the class 8 truck model for years with great success. The big trucks did not dunk the systems under water as the pickups did. We did not know that they were not water proof. When I bought the company back after my kidney transplant, the first thing I did was to water proof those motors. The second thing was to redesign the Gearotor tower and use the 3" sealed motors and the best machining. The third thing was to give you the best customer service with direct factory contact. The fourth was to give you the best price. And now, the first with a LIFETIME WARRANTY on a fuel system. This warranty is on both the AirDog 100 & 150 and the Raptor 100 & 150.
So now you get the "Sound Physics" of the Fuel Preporator Fuel Air Separation System, the best service, the best price, and THE BEST WARRANTY in the industry.
Thanks,

Well that clears things up :) Thanks for the info Charlie.
I'm sure I could do this with a simple search, but whats the difference between the Airdogs and the Raptor?

Call me at the office on Monday after 8:00 AM Central Time. You have had that AirDog for at least three years (?) with no trouble, so unless you drive in water deep enough to dunk the tranny, you should not have a problem. Any way, give me a call.

Ordered mine from Diesel Distributors. They're an advertiser on here. I had it sent to a US address for the free shipping and a very nice gentleman brought it up across the border for me.[coffee]
Order the extra hose kit......tell 'em it's for a long box.....extra hose free in case you make a mistake. I haven't made a mistake yet, but it's not on the truck yet either........work keeps cutting into my plans.........and I cannot find smaller diameter bulkhead fittings.:(
Charlie: Any idea what type of parts store might carry smaller diameter bulkhead fittings? The diameter of the supplied one just will not go between other stuff in the area I want.

Talk to Phil the diesel mechanic at Wetaskwin Dodge, he deals with GDP stuff. I got my 2 Micron big line kit from him and he's installing a GDP mechanical lift pump for me soon. Also Larry at DTR will give you awesome prices, I ordered two Pacbrakes for members of my family for 1100 bucks each and i did the install for them both. Anywhere else was 1250+.

I have the supplied one from AD and the one pictured below from Vulcan:
http://www.vulcanperformance.com/catalog/DS-2.gif
My issue with the supplied bulkhead fitting is that it is 2" in diameter and won't fit in the spot I need. It's a huge plastic thing requiring a 1.5" hole to be drilled.............incredible.:o
My only issue with the Vulcan bulkhead fitting is that I'm not sure I trust the pressure fit grommet / a 1 and 1/8th" hole has to be drilled with the diameter of the grommet being 1.5". A little too big for where I need to put it.
If I could get a bulkhead fitting even with a slightly smaller diameter than the Vulcan, 1/2" ID, 90* with a push lock for the topside (like the Vulcan pictured), I'd be laughing.................I'd take two.
How much? er PM me with that...site rules and all.[coffee]
