air suspension

does anyone know how many solenoids i will need to raise and lower air suspension? will one do it or do i need a second to dump them?

Depends on how you plumb it.

2 solenoids if both bags are plumbed together; one to fill and one to dump

4 solenoids if the bags are plumbed separate; 2 to fill and 2 to dump each side.

thanx, i think im gunna go with both bags together. i dont think towing i will need em seperate

are you trying to dump the air fast? if not then just get the firestone control head. 3 air lines total and can dump each side independently

i would ideally like to use the 2 spare spots i have for switches. i think they are for a sunroof and rear slider but i cant find the rocker switches anywhere online. im not sure if i will need to dump the air fast but im sure if i did a 3/4" solenoid with a large orfice might do it? correct me if im wrong im new to the on-board air

the firestone controls only use 1/4" line to fill and to dump so a 3/4" would put you to empty pretty fast

Actually you want them separate for towing, and really every application..

The reason is sway. If they are plumbed together when you get body roll the psi stays the same, and the bags will gain and lose volume, based on which side they are on. When you get out of the corner you have to wait for the volumes to equalize before you will have a level truck again.. When they are plumbed independently the volume stays the same, so the pressure increases or decreases (depending on the side in the sway) and this creates an anti-sway effect...

So independently is the safer, better way to go.

so to do it seperatly i just run 2 seperate feeds from the tank and 2 seperate dumps? so 4 solenoids

Thats what I would do. Keep each bag completely independent.

Forgot about the sway argument. And, yes, I do see each side change independently when going over uneven roads & bumps.
