Air in lines after sitting

The "search" option on the site isn't working (meaning it will not load results) but I remember reading about trucks sitting uphill that would stall because one or more fuel lines had micro leaks. Anybody recall these threads or can point me in the direction of which line(s) to start with? Don't have the time to switch out all the fuel lines, looking for the best place to start.

My 97 is doing this after it sits for a week without running and on a slight uphill in my driveway. Turn the truck around or drive it every couple of days and it doesn't do it. Any ideas other than the fuel lines????

Thanks all.

Scott

All the fuel hoses should be replaced every few years to avoid microscopic air leaks.

However, fill your tank to the brim and see if the problem goes away. If so, it is time to replace the suction tube in the fuel tank.

Probably fuel lines up front, easiest to remove that whole mess starting at the quick connect under drivers feet area of the floorboard all the way up to the engine. 6 foot each of 5/16 and 3/8 Diesel rated fuel line and hose clamps.

mine had a tiny hole in the stainless pipe behind the engine in the feed line, its a foot or so long.. it goes through a plastic ring to hold it and the plastic actually wore a hole in the stainless steel.. i cut the bad spot out and used diesel grade hose from there up.. problem gone.. you may also want to replace your bypass valve if you havent done it in a while, it can make the fuel drain back if its stuck open a little.. they are cheap from most diesel shops and takes a minute to change

We were on the same page... Thanks for the tip, it still has the stock valve. Might as well change it while I'm there.
