Question Air Intake

I pulled the air intake off my rig for better access to the fuel lines and AFC housing and the gaskets fell apart, namely the one under the heater. I was wondering if I could make one out of silicone or if I need a good gasket. My mods are below and I was pulling 35psi boost before the timing ang injectors and gsk. I haven't drove the truck with the injectors, gsk, timing, and new overflow valve. I'm not sure what boost to expect but I'm up at about 6000 feet and was wondering if the old gaskets would hold up or if I need to up grade. I've had the intake off before and reinstalled it with old gaskets and saw no signs of leaks. I have a few friends with bombed ctds and none of them see as much boost as mine did. Is this a lot of boost or am I in the clear?

Just get a new one. Fel-Pro make an air intake kit. You get both gaskets.

35 lbs of boost is fine. anything more and youre just throwing hot air around just watch your egt's since you live so high up.

k. should I wastegate it at 35 psi or just leave it alone? does the high boost levels raise the EGT?

Hardly a waste of money... Its all time involved to pull the front cover and tab it. Mine was out 3/16" and I tapped it back in. The pin falls out and it takes out the gear case at a minimum (requires pulling the entire cam shaft to replace) or on its way down taking out the drive gears for the IP or PS or oil pump.. Small insurance really.. A search on KDP otta fill about 800 pages for you to read..

Thats a good question... Well if you read through that link you could tell if the jig was used anyway.. Other than that, its pulling the cover.
