Air filters the good the bad the ugly

If you are like me and wondering what air filter is ok and what one is not, here is some links to some interesting testing done.

http://home.usadatanet.net/~jbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm

http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/Air_filter.htm

I wish that there had been a oil bath filter in the test. I am interested in hearing other comments.

Well, I'm impressed.

Of course, I'm too lazy to dig through all that data, so what's the conclusion? I mean, WHO THE HECK WRITES TEN PAGES ON FILTER DATA AND DOESN'T WRITE A CONCLUSION!?!

Golly, I don't need the graphs, I'd settle with a smart guy saying "purchase the UNI"...

How could you know if there was or was not a conclusion if you didn't read it?

I'm a good student. I read the last page.

How I always pass (or not pass) my school classes.

Well if one were to draw a conclusion, it might be that the K&N flows a lot of air . . . . . .. and dirt.

Thumbs up

I think if you check around on K&N, some have good luck, some don't. Seems like if you install them & not clean them for 50-100k, they work better Also, using grease to help seal in the stock box.
I check my turbo wth each oil change, since I pull the boot to get to the oil filter. Spotless, so far.
I belive the filter helps mileage, power. doesn't cost much, either.
