Air filter prices
Anyone know where inexpensive air filters are available for the 03's. Last time I checked they were very pricey. 30 or 40 bucks as I recall.

Re:Air filter prices
Mymaur,
Yes they are kind of expensive but price a 6.0 Ford filter and you'll feel real good about the Dodge price!! I would suggest you get a AFE Pro Guard 7 replacement or intake system anyway as for all practical purposes you will only buy it once and in the long run will flow more air, keep the dirt out of the engine and save you some cash as well. We have them all in stock so call us if we can help you.

Re:Air filter prices
Amsoil has the New FLOWZAIR for the stock housing for the 03 dodges:
Replaces Mopar # 53032700AA
The Amsoil part number is TS189
Retail price is: $47.50 preferred customer price $35.90
Filter dimensions are 11"x10"x2".
This uses the new metal suport, and super sealing Polyethlene base material(seals with as little as 10% compression!)This filter is reusable when you clean and reoil it. If you want canada pricing email me, no import tax to canada either, plus it gets shipped from a canada distrobution center to help save shipping.

Re:Air filter prices
Considering I paid less than $10 for the filters in my 95 and these are basically the same filter, just slightly larger. I'd say $35 is outrageous. If the cost of the vehicle is proportionate to the cost of the air filter then I guess a filter in a Mercedes is about $200 and a filter in Rolls must be about $2000.

Re:Air filter prices
I see that AFE proguard 7 for sale on many sites and genos. Genos fails to mention if they are reuseable/washable in their writeup. What's the cleanup process?
I had an amsoil filter but the act of cleaning it, reoiling it, soaking up excess oil, waiting for it to dry, etc...was so much of a pain that I just threw it out and went back to disposable paper. My silicon readings in my oil analysis after 10k were only 7 with paper and 6 with amsoil....not enough gain IMO to justify the extra pain in the butt.

I just received a Mopar Air Filter for my 03 from Geno's. Price was $25.95. This filter has been redesigned from the original which came on my truck. The fins are about 30% taller and there is a foam pre-filter attached. The Mopar part number is 1-53032700AB for the new filter. The old filter number ended in AA. I believe the new design started about 6/03.

Re:Air filter prices
I got mine from the dealer they were 24.95 retail. They are made in England and appear to be high-quality. To top off that price I had a 25% off coupon for maintenance parts that mopar sent me because I bought so many accessories for the new truck.
