I am planning on a 6-month RV trip next year. I will have 10 tires on the road and 2 spares.
I run all my tires at 80psi, all the time.
Do you take an air compressor for your tires when you travel.
What kind?
What size?
Where do you store it?
Your input is appreciated.

I sometimes carry a 12v pump from the local parts store.
It's a larger pump for being 12v. about the size of an adult lunchbox.
Cost ~$50... called a truck pro or something... can reach the higher PSI... with time.

I keep in under the rear seat.

Made up a 7-way plug w/ a cig lighter receiver to power it from the rear of the truck so it reaches all 10 wheels and 2 air bags.

I've got a Air-Zenith. 2.9 cfm at 200 psi. 100% duty cycle. Expensive, but worth it.

I have a cheapo 12V pump under the seat, But the primary is the HD compresser for the firestone air bags.

We went on a 6 month trip and I did not carry a compressor. We were in a group so I would of had help if needed. Small trailer, small truck bed, lots of stuff. I opted out on the compressor. Did not take a generator either. Would have bought either one on the trip if I had need it. Takes a pretty good compressor to do the 80 lb thing. I went 17000 miles and did not need to add air. I think it comes down to whether you would rather carry a compressor or try to air up at a fuel station. You can buy them almost anywhere if you think you need one.

I take one. Most of the time I need a way to air up after pulling off the sand, so I bring it along

I prefer on-board air. Mine is viair 400 with a big truck air tank.

i carry a air zenith in one truck and a firestone in the other one along with 50 foot hose and plug kit. the compressor's have to be connected to the battery and not a cigarette lighter

I always have a cheap Wally World pump under the back seat, never tell when it may be needed, comes in handy for the bikes also.

I have an air tank I can just fill up and throw in the bed of the truck. I also never leave home on a long towing trip without my floor-jack and tire plug kit.....

Viair onboard with 5gal tank under rear fender... Plenty of airhose, airjack, air tools... Use it ALL THE TIME!

Primary use is pacbrake... My tank has had 100+psi for 3 years now

I'm putting in my viair system this week.... it'll solve all the air needs I have and wasn't too bad. they make portable ones too, but I'm mounting mine. I'd suggest a 100% duty cycle one.

Probably not going to fill tires to 80psi too well, but who knows.....

I take and plug my 50ft hose into my air brakes system.Since I run at 120lbs,does take long at all.

I appreciate everyone's input because I put this question on 3 different websites. Everyone stated that they do take a compressor when they are traveling. The type of air compressor varied from a 12-volt system to a 110-volt system. There was even some recommended CO2 cylinders that required no electricity.

When I am traveling down the road and if I have a tire problem, I will call road service. I mainly wanted the compressor for checking the tire pressure before I hit the road in the morning.

I researched all the suggestions and came to the conclusion of purchasing a small 110-volt compressor. I bought a Craftsmam Air Compressor:
2 gallon
1 horsepower
125 psi
2.4 SCFM@90psi

This air compressor should meet all my needs when I am on the road and can also be used at home.
