Aftermarket wheels-What do you do for a spare?

For everyone with aftermarket wheels say 18 or 20 inch wheels with 35s. What are you doing for a spare tire? Buy five wheels and tires, put a 35 on a stock wheel or what? Thanks Bruce.

I got some aftermarket wheels and tires...17's and 315's...

Spare tires and wheels just add weight and slow you down...

If I get a flat, I got a AAA card...

In 14 years of driving, I've never had a flat, so that's why I don't carry a spare.

I took my spare wheel and tire and dismounted the tire and put a 315 70 r17 on the stock spare wheel and have it in the bed of the truck. I know a flat doesnt happen often but when it does its nice to be able to get moving again and not have to call and wait on someone to come fix you up. You know it usually happens when your in a hurry to get somewhere and AAA isnt in a hurry to get to you and fix you up. Just my 2 cents though. better to be safe than sorry

Something you will have to live with, a spare or not. I kept my stock spare under the truck just to get down the road if needed, but I also have AAA and 100 free miles of towing!

It's a calculated risk for sure...

If you feel good about it, then do it...

The only time I had a flat, (self inflicted) the dang spare end'nd up going flat on me...

I was young and dumb at that time anyway...

Now that I'm older and probably even dumber...

My tires aren't going flat, for crying out loud, I've got a $30K truck, and 2 sets of tires and rims...

Either way, tires cost $200 a piece at the most...

I'm out...

Wow, no spare?

I wouldn't go anywhere without one, had 2 flats last year...

Bruce, if I were you I'd just get a used 17" tire of the same diameter and put it on your steel spare wheel.

I have a set of 5 like this. I also rotate all 5 of them. The spare fit's fine under the bed.

I have always had a spare that matched on this truck, except for a couple of months. Of course that was when a slow leak on the highway caused a full tread seperation 10 miles from the nearest anything. Have driven almost 5 years and 100k miles with matching spare (315 or 285) and no problem. Go 4 weeks without one and BOOM!

I will never be on the highway again without a spare that matches and can be used normally. Murphy see and knows all.
