aftermarket shocks holes wrong size clunking
how many people bought after market shocks only to have them on a lil while and have a clunking when they go over bumps in the road, i have had rancho, fab techs and super lift shocks on my trucks and they all done it, the bolt hole is too large on the after market shocks, i thought about drilling the shock hole brackets to take a american bolt so the shocks wont do this, anyone else have the same issue? took me a while to figure out it was the shocks making the noise

I had this same issue when i had my superlift bilsteins installed and they started about about 10k. Had about 30k when I took them off. The factory bolts were destroyed, tiny shock bushings were done, etc.
Ordered replacement bushings and they came with the proper bushing sleeve. I rebuilt the bushings myself and installed using new OEM hardware, antisease in the bolts, and dielectric lube (silicone grease) on the bushings. This helped prevent rusting of the OEM bolts to the bushing sleeve and helped keep some moisture out of the bushings and let the stuff slide/work properly.
Another 15k now, no issues. But the shocks are now leaking. So gotta get new shocks.
