Aftermarket fuel pump wiring how too's??

Picking up a Holley HP series pump and need to know the best way to wire this thing. Right now I also have a fuel pump in the tank (replacement) that is offered by the Dealership, which is pretty much junk. I was thinking I could tape into the factory wire running to the tank pump, but not sure how its wired or even if this is a power wire (could be ground). or even a switch wire going to a relay. So if anyone could point me to the correct way...this would be a big help.

Thanks

I'm running a Holley Red with my in-tank pump. I mounted it on the frame rail and made my own "big line kit" and I run the two together.
Look on the firewall, there is a relay that the dealer installed when they put the in-tank pump in. Find the power wire coming from the relay that goes to the in-tank pump and use that for the trigger wire for your Holley pump and then wire the Holley pump power wire directly to the battery.
DO NOT splice the power wire for the Holley pump directly into the power wire for the in-tank pump.
With the Holley Red I get 15psi @idle....14psi cruising....and 10psi@WOT with the Adrenaline turned up.

Ok is this a ground wire? What are you calling a "trigger Wire"? If coming from a relay it very well just be a ground?

The wire going from the relay to the in-tank pump is a hot wire. Use that wire to supply "on" power to the Holley pump relay but use the battery for the power source for the Holley pump.
Look up "relay wiring" on Google or whatever to help figure out the wiring diagram for a relay.

Ok thanks for the info, You never said that the wire was the + for the fuel pump, that was my question. I always run relays on every current drawing piece on my race cars........

Again thanks
