Aftermarket exhaust manifold?

Well im finally thinking of upgrading. Reason is because from what I understand is this will reduce my egt's some what. Is it really worth it? Someone was telling me that the stock manifold restricts exhaust flow from cylinders 4 and 5. An after market will reduce the temps. Which ones are the best on the market? Price wise. Ats, Bd, htt. What is everyone running? Best bang for the buck. Thanks for the help

I have seen people talking about putting a 24 Valve manifolds on common rail trucks. Check them out on youtube they sound way better. The 24 Valve manifold makes a common rail truck sound more like the older 24Vs. Some say it made the turbos spool faster too. A while back someone told me that aftermarket manifolds, like an ATS is like putting on a 24 Valve manifold. Is this true? If I were to buy an ATS manifold would it make my truck sound different?

I have been reading about this. BUT just curious if there is a benefit to this? Are they cheaper? I would go aftermarket either way.Do they flow different than the cr?

2nd gen manifolds will bolt up but you have to do a little more. Oil drain and feed lines will need to be made longer. The air box will need to be modified. And whatever else, I have just seen what people have done on here. Still my question is, would I be better off with an ATS manifold or a 24 Valve manifold? Price does not matter. And would it make the truck sound different?

I have ATS and noticed a drop in cruising boost. It must be less restrictive. As for egts I put a 351 turbo on at the same time with a boost elbow so I couldn't tell you.

Did your ATS make the exhaust sound different?

Mind sounded different because I put on my 4" exhaust with the Donaldson muffler.

It's advertisement says it fits a 2003 - 2007. You can check it out at http://www.fabshopheaders.com/ hit the diesel button
