Now Im kinda confused. Ive been looking at different companies 4" systems, and most list for 94-97 and another for 98-02 for the 24 valve. But after looking at Ebay, theres one listed for 94-02. Is there a difference? Summit has one listed for the 98-02 for about 300. Since I have a gift certificate there,I like to know if anyone has put one on a 12 valve. Anyone???

Well, I called Summit to ask about the exhaust. The sales guy said it would work on 94-98 if you have a cat. So I asked him if I dont, why wouldnt it work. Maybe they only give enough pipe to incorperate the convertor, but that doesnt make a whole lot of sence either. Anyone out there put one on from Summit, any year?

I think the tail pipe hangers might be a difference.. they look completly different.

The 94-97 have a different hanger for the tailpipe. Other than that the systems will bolt up the same.

The reason some only want to sell kits for the 98+ is because on the pre-98.5 trucks you would be removing the CAT to install the complete system and some don't want to recommend this.

ATC250R has a Summit system on his 12 valve, he said it bolted right up. PM him for more info.

Next question...
How is the exhaust system on the ex. cab/ std. bed different than the std. cab long bed? I think Magnaflow only shows the system being offered for the ex. cab (which I don't have). I'm assuming the "std. bed" is the 6' bed. If not then it sounds like the system may be a couple of feet longer than I'm need, but that's easy enough to shorten.

The only difference is length. If it is too long it would be easy enough to trim a piece and make it shorter.
