After the truck was broken in....

I now have decided to put in an alarm. One question that I have seems to be a no brainer but why did the centre console not have a lock? Did Chrysler not think anything of value might be put in it or the glove box? Oh well having ranted on that has anyone come up with a lockable centre console? Or custom made one? Thanks

Go with a Revelco. Like everyone else, I hear alarms going off constantly and usually don't even look into the direction of all the noise.

Most Chryslers do not have locking glove boxs, and if you spend a minute examining the center console you'll see it's too flimsy for a lock to matter- one can lift the center high enough to slip something in and snap the lid easily.

Actually, I would wager most vehicles don't have glove box locks, and with most glove box doors being just plastic, the lock would do little anyway. Anything valuable in sight in the vehicle is a temptation for a break in, and leaving the doors unlocked is the same. If someone is going to break into the truck the lock on the glove box is not going to stop them.

They sell little steel lock boxes you can install under the seat to the seat frame- mostly marketed as portable gun safes. Might be what you are looking for.
