i bought a truck that has the afe magnum air filter system on it, and i am not sure which filter is used. i have cleaned it with a kn cleaner, but i am not sure how to tell if this is an oil filter or a dry filter.anybody???the filter media looks to be either grey or white from the inside, outside was too dirty to tell. not yellow or blue anyway. the filter surround is grey and the tube is grey as well, probably an older model from what i see on the internet, i don't see this exact system.it looks like a stage 1 system from geno's web site.

The AFE Magnum filter(Stage I) I had when my 03 was new, had red rubber support around the filter media, and it was an oiled filter. I do not know what the AFE # was, but you might try calling Geno's Garage and asking them.

they only carry one style of the afe filters, which is the pro gaurd 7.
i don't think that this is that one, i have cleaned it 3 times now and it still hasn't come very clean, it was pretty dirty, not sure how this truck even sucked any air through it. i might just buy a replacement filter anyway, i hate to do that when i want to go twin s soon and the filter kit i have will not be used then.

You've probably figured it out by now but it's the aFe ProGuard 7. Filter is oiled. Good Luck with the tunes. If you have any questions shoot me an email. Not driving a DC now so I don't visit this site often.
