are the dry filters going to be included in the stage 2 air intake kits? or do we need to order seperately and end up with 2 filters?

I would call AFE to make sure if you don't tell them you want dry then they may just send the oiled version.
even tho dry is the only way to go..and once they start to sell the dry, AFE will never sale another oiled filter again

That is probably true to a large degree. I suspect that is what they want, probably a lot cheaper to manufacture the dry filter than it is the oiled ones.

So I asked this in a different thread and got no answer, so I will ask again, why is it you don't want to use an oiled filter? is it performance? will it do damage? I ask because I just purchased a K&N FIPK for mine and I won't install it if it will hurt my truck.

Are the dry filters still reuseable like the oiled?

I need a new filter(and a larger one) and im sick of cleaning it off everytime, only for it to be clogged within a few weeks...

Im thinking dry/ pre filter is the way to go.

I'll answer! With oiled filters you really have to be careful, cause too much oil and the turbo will suck it out and cause build-up on the turbo fins, attract dust/dirt. There is nothing wrong with an oiled filter as long as it's not over oiled. K&N filters always come over oiled! You'll notice when you open the box on how wet and the oily film all over the package. I would return the K&N and purchase something else! Just my opinion and experiance. There is the AFE, AEM, S&B, Volant and a few others out there that are better then the K&N. AFE and AEM both have a dry filter.

Thanks for answering!! Unfortunately I bought the kit off eBay, so I need to see if I can return it. If not, and if I read you correctly, I could wash and re-oil this one and just go real light on the oil or just sell the filter on eBay and get a different one with the right size opening.
