Adrenaline vs XZT+

Been thinking this over for days and just not sure. I have read about both and they both seem to be great modules, but do I really need all that power from the adrenaline?? What makes the adrenaline hard to pass up is all the things that come with it and the price difference is only like 100 dollars. What kind of numbers does the XZT+ put out with the highest level downloaded on it? What to do......

my friend has a xzt+ and its like night and day compaired to the power of my adrenaline. i think the xzt+ would be good for somebody that dont want high hp and wants a little more towing power. trust me you will always want more.

Like you say.... the adr w/ the Pulse, and all it's readouts and custom tuning are great!
And the Adrenaline is the only box I've seen that gives an honest 180 HP!

Be aware.... your tranny, if stock, won't handle all the Adrenaline can offer. Need to think about an upgrade before using the higher power settings.

Not sufficient! You will need an after market Valve Body, IMO. I know one 01 that had a DTT valve body and stock converter and ran at 400 hp for 2+ yrs.

'98ramcummins' - Got there fast... You in Texas?
Get the Pulse also?

Yeah, bout it off ebay, 495 free shipping, didn't get the pulse with it though. Im located in cali. Has everything but seems to be missing the fuel pressure sending unit, bolt, and banjo washers. So im in the process of getting those shipped out to me. I know you can obvisouly download what ever tune you want but what are you guys running and like? I drive my truck every day to work and just wondering what was working good for you. I want to install it this weekend but if I dont get the fuel stuff is it possible to still install it and just not hook up the fuel pressure wire? Does the comp read off the wire or is it just the wire for the pod?

Can install as many wires or as few as you wish.
I have never used the FP or oil temp wire because I still have my prefered mechanical gauges. For FP readouts go to Quadzilla direct. New sensor is required and probably not on e-bay.
If your Hypertec Tuner adds timing (?) don't use it. Adrenaline adds 8* timing on all proigrams
I use my Smarty and injectors only for most daily driving so I may not be the best one to ask.... but I like the 'Comp2' Tune from 11/25/08.
I would suggest you start with one of the the ADR1000 tunes. Then work your way up...ADR 2000, Comp, etc. See which works best for your driving and you setup!
If you like the ADR.... save up for the Pulse. It's really amazing, IMO.
Get your money's worth...playing with the different tunes is what it's all about!

Got it installed today but dosent seem as if the tune is on loaded on the module. I think it might have something to do with the setup on the box. I dont think the drivers got installed on the module..... working on that now....

Well so far nothing. During the flash player setup it didnt seem to install the drivers, but when the box is hooked up it is recognized and says that the tunes have been successfully uploaded to the box, and when the box is hooked up and I look it up it says the tune that i put on it is there. Problem is after hooking the box back up in the truck I dont have any power but stock. I would assume after hooking it up and just letting it idle and going through the power levels it would idle different and you could just tell it had more power. I have the map sensor plugged in, the wire tap, and the triangle plug, plugged in. Black wire to battery, solid red to battery, and red with stripe to fuse panel. The pod has power going to it. So I just havent got the oil temp and fuel pressure hooked up, but figured if I had the vitals it should still work just not give me a read out on the pod. So does this sound like a tune loading problem or mechanical installation problem? Plan on going out and checking it all over again...Any advice RJ?

Umm, nope. You need to drive it. There will be no difference at idle on any power level, ever, no matter what tune.

Other than that, I am having a hard time figuring out if there is actually an issue? Does it read egt? Boost will be 0 at idle.

If you change power levels and the display changes then the box and the controller are talking to each other and working.
